It’s been busy around here. And by “here” I mean the immediate vicinity of my personal being and not, as is evident, the website. Consider the situation remedied, though, for I’m now blessed with a complete lack of editorial obligation. The editing is finished. I did the official happy dance this weekend (in fact, I’m doing it again right now and you can’t prove that I’m not). The story and writing are stronger than they’ve ever been and I’m deeply grateful to Kate Etue, my editor, for the fantastic job she did of pointing out things that needed fixing, passages that needed strengthening, and a thousand and one apostrophes that needed to be turned around (it’s complicated). It feels great to be done.
The manuscript is now hurtling its way through the mysteries of the internet to place itself in front of a final proofreader. She’ll be checking over the manuscript for errors and typos one last time before it goes to the typesetter. While that’s going on, Evie is hard at work on the cover art, Kate is going to help write the back cover copy and plan the layout, and I’m at work turning the Rabbit Room Press into a functional publisher who will (hopefully) have the whole package printed up in time for a December 1st release date. Did you get all that? Me neither, but I’m taking notes.
